Nancy Pursley, DHA, MPA

Nancy Pursley is Director of the Program Design and Management Center for the Southern Institute on Children and Families. Dr. Pursley has more than 15 years of experience in health policy including policy development and policy analysis. She has extensive knowledge and experience related to health coverage issues, particularly related to lower-income families, as well as experience in administration and policy development for public health coverage programs.
Prior to joining the Southern Institute, Dr. Pursley served as Associate Director of the Institute for Public Service and Policy Research at the University of South Carolina. While at the University, Dr. Pursley also worked as the Assistant Director for the Center for Health Services and Policy Research. Prior to joining the University, she worked in a variety of state health and human services agencies. In 2001, Dr. Pursley received her Doctor of Health Administration Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She also holds a Master of Public Administration Degree and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from the University of South Carolina.
