The Southern Institute on Children and Families works with federal, state and
local leaders and businesses to tackle critical issues facing lower-income
children and families. We identify and help implement actions to make public
programs more effective, efficient, accessible and responsive to the people they
are supposed to serve. Southern Institute efforts have resulted in dramatic
improvements for millions of lower-income children and families across the
country on a range of issues, including health care coverage, child care and
early education and policies that support working families.
